Pushkar Camel Fair 2011 Begins in Pushkar



The Pushkar Camel Fair 2011 has begun in Pushkar, Rajasthan. The festival which is renowned all over the world, has religious, cultural and commercial significance. Pushkar is the only place in the world where Lord Brahma, the Creator of Universe, as per Hindu beliefs, is worshipped. During this festival, it is considered extremely auspicious to take a dip in the water of Pushkar Lake.

The culture of Rajasthan is vividly seen and experienced during the Pushkar fair. Camel races, camel beauty contest, Rajasthani folk music and dance performances keep visitors engaged and entertained to the core.

Camel trade form an intrinsic part of this event. Traders come over to Pushkar from all over Rajasthan to buy and sell camels for their business purpose.
