Republic day

26 January, holds a place of great importance in the heart of every Indian. On this day in the year 1950 our constitution came into existence that established India as a democratic country. Since then every year 26 January is celebrated as the Republic Day in India. This is the day when Indians come together to celebrate the spirit of nationality and togetherness. This year India celebrats its 62nd Republic Day.

The date 26 January has an important relevance to the freedom struggle, that is why it was decided to make our constitution on this day. In the year 1927, on the same day Indian National Congress who were the leaders of the freedom struggle declared independence against the ' dominion status'. The active members of this party at that time undertook the vow to make India an independent and democratic country.

Although it is celebrated in every state of this country but one can experience the actual colors of Republic Day in the capital city of Delhi only. Every year on 26 January an amazing Republic Day parade is organized by the government at Rajpath near India Gate. President, Prime Minister, MP'S, Foreign delegates and other VVIP'S come to witness this great event. At the beginning Prime Minister pays his tribute at the Amar Jawan Jyoti.

Afterwards the different regiments of army, navy and air-force march past the pavilion where the President takes salute. After them the army personnels showcase the military strength of India with the different tanks and other war weapons. The whole Rajpath is filled with several colors when the beautiful tableaux pass the pavilion. Students from different schools also show their dancing skills in the front of all the guests. Just before the end of this parade several acrobats on their bikes show the visitors their incredible skills. In the end President releases many colorful balloons in the air to mark the completion of this outstanding affair.

Feel proud to be an Indian when you celebrate the Republic Day.
