Hill Stations India

The landscape of India spells magic, specially when it comes to the scenic hill stations. One glance at them and you will feel a freshness run through your body and mind. More enthusiastic souls are not satisfied just relaxing, they need more action...and the hill stations of India do not disappoint them either. This hill station might not be as popular as the north Indian hill stations but its picture postcard beauty has earned it a sobriquet of the 'Scotland of East'. South India is mostly known for its beaches and temples but even here hill stations occupy a prominent place in the tourism sector. Topping the list of South India hill stations are Munnar, Ooty, Kodaikanal, Wayanad, Nilgiri, Coonoor Coorg Devikulam, Nandi Hills Bangalore, Panchgani, Ponmudi and Vythiri hill station. Munnar and Ooty tourism by far have attracted the maximum number of travellers. Coorg, Coonoor and Kodaikanal are not far behind. Infact places to visit in Kodaikanal includes a trip to one of the most beautiful lakes of south India - Berijam Lake. 


Coming towards west India, you will find comparatively fewer number of hill stations than north India yet the charm of these hill stations is by no means less. Famous hill stations of this region of India include Khandala, Lonavala, Panchgani, Panhala, Pachmarhi, Saputara, Mahabaleshwar and Matheran.
