Ram Navmi, the sacred day when Lord Ram was born, is celebrated with full flair in every part of India. The holy fasting that continues for nine days (also called navratras) come to an end on this day. On this day people get up early in the morning and visit temples for special pooja. Ladies prepare special dishes on this day that are later distributed as prasad. Special bhajans and processions are organized in every temple all around the country.
One can see the real charm of this festival in Ayodhya (the birth place of Lord Ram), where thousands of devotees visit the sacred place where Ram were born.
