The rain played a spoil sport at the Pallekele Stadium, Kandy, Sri Lanka at yesterday's match between Pakistan and Zimbabwe. Although in the end Pakistan emerged as a winer and finally fixed their spot in the quarters.
Chasing a target of 162 runs (that was given according to the Duckworth/Lewis method) Pakistan's opening was not so impressive but with the good innings of Asad Shafiq, they achieved their target. On the other hand Zimbabwe continued their poor performance in this world cup. With this loss they also lost their chance of entering the quarters.
Final scorecard:
Zimbabwe: 151-7 (34.1)
Pakistan: 164-3 (34.1), Umar Gul was Man of the Match
