Indian cities are the reflection of the rich cultural heritage and the magnificent architecture of its monuments. People from North to South and East to West vary in different aspects. People living in these cities speak different languages, wear different costumes and eat different cuisines yet they all are same and share same sentiments. Here is the list of various cities of India.


Major North Indian Cities:
Delhi: It is the capital of India and a the biggest political center of this country. It is a cosmopolitan city and also has a rich past. Travelers here can see various historical monuments like Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Jama Masjid, Lotus Temple and many more. They can also taste delicious cuisines while in Delhi.


Agra: Famous for one of the wonders of the world Taj Mahal, Agra is a perfect destination for spending holidays. Tourists from every part of the world come here to see the monument of eternal love. They can also see the Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri.


Jaipiur: The capital city of rajasthan is also known as the Pink city. It forms part of the famous Golden Triangle of North India together with Delhi and Agra. The most important attractions of this well planned out city are the City palace, Amber Fort and Hawa Mahal.
  
Haridwar: People visit Haridwar to wash away their sins and to take a holy dip in the sacred Ganga River. There are many temples in this city and is a famous Hindu pilgrimage center. Kumbh Mela which is organized after every four year is very popular among the tourists.


Ladakh: Experience the serene and tranquil beauty of nature in its pristine form. There are many Buddhist monasteries in this city. Very few people live here because of the extreme climatic conditions. It is a well known hub for adventure enthusiasts.


Udaipur: The city of majestic palaces, exclusive architecture and exotic five star hotels Udaipur is a true delight for holiday-makers. Each monument has a story of its own. Travelers here can experience a royal life-style by staying in the hotels and palaces.


Ajmer: It is a holy city for both Hindus and Muslims. Pushkar and the pious Ajmer Sharif is visited by thousands of devotees every year. The architecture of these buildings is also very magnificent.


Major South Indian Cities:
Chennai : The capital city of Tamil Nadu is also known as the city of temples. The Marina beach here is also very famous.


Trivandrum: The capital city of Kerala, Trivandrum along with Kochi acts as the base for tourism in the state.Padmanabha Swamy Temple, Kuthiramalika Palace Museum , Napier Museum are the prime attraction of the city.    


Bangalore: Travelers know Bangalore as the Garden City and Silicon Valley of India. There are many historical buildings in this city that are worth watching. For shopping visitors can buy silk saris, antique jewelery and various handicrafts items. The best time to visit Bangalore is in the months of winter.


Hyderabad: The once city of Nawabs in now the IT city of India. The Charminar,Golconda Fort , Husain Sagar Lake , Salar Jung Museum and Hyderabad Botanical Gardens attract a lot many visitors. Hyderabadi Biryani is a delicious item that should be definitely tasted.


Cochin: Known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea, Cochin is the most important sea port of India. In earlier times it was the most important commercial center for the Britishers. The buildings of this city have the Portuguese influence on them and offers a amazing and memorable holidays to the tourists.


Kovalam: If some one is looking to spend their holidays in the lap of the nature then Kovalam is the ideal place for them. Here they can walk on the golden sand while enjoying the cool wind and sipping the coconut water under the bright sun. Major West Indian Cities:
Mumbai : The commercial and entertainment hub of India, Mumbai or Bombay as it was known earlier has a magnetic charm for Indians. Its capability to turn dreams of individual into reality, to make them achieve the impossible. As for tourists, there are attractions like the Haji Ali Dargah, Juhu Beach, Mahalaxmi temple and Marine Drive. 


Ajanta & Ellora: Here one can visit the ancient caves of Ajanta and Ellora that are famous for its rock carvings. Various Hindu deities are depicted on the walls of the caves. Major East Indian Cities:
Kolkata : The cultural hub of India, Kolkata displays art in every nook and corner. Foreigners just love this city for its sheer essence. The love for art is palpable so is the love for food, specially Roshogulla and Macher Jhor. Sightseeing options include Victoria Memorial , Fort William , Birla Planetarium, Howrah Bridge , etc.,
